Zestz for LAUGHS : Whacky Quotes

Remember what we had published about the dog and the pussy?

Well, here's more great literature from the same passionate follower, correctly censored and post-dated from Sunday, for your reading pleasure:

If necessity is the mother of invention, then frustration is the father of m*sturbation!

Always marry a woman with small palms. It makes your d*ck look bigger!

Life without friends is like boobs without nipples... POINTLESS!

The importance of UNITY explained at it's best: What did one leg of a woman tell the other: UNITED we are save, Divided we are f*cked.

Slogan on a boy's T-shirt: Please tell your b**bs not to stare at my eyes.

F*ck a girl & she'll love you... Love a girl & she'll f*ck you!

The irony of a blow job is that even if you have her at your feet she's still got you by the b*lls

LOVE & GRATITUDE

Quite often we are so caught up in the rat race that we lose track of the little things we can do to add meaning to our lives and make our loved ones feel appreciated.

By activating the practice of gratitude on a daily basis, they can set in motion many positive forces.

M. J. Ryan and Daphne Rose Kingma in Attitudes of Gratitude in Love: Creating More Joy in Your Relationship offer a few help tips:

Don’t rob your everyday relationship of its pleasures by constantly expecting too much. As Jon Carroll once quipped: “An expectation is a resentment waiting to happen.” Let your love know that he or she is appreciated.

Never skimp on compliments or other words of praise.

Always emphasize the positive aspects of your history together; the negatives can be seen as bad weather — partly cloudy days.

Remember to practice little acts of kindness; they brighten the day.

Always cherish the third member of your relationship, the “usness” that has been created.

Let your mutual love animate your service of others.

A new article in Personal Relationships concurs that everyday gratitude serves an important relationship maintenance mechanism in close relationships, acting as a booster shot to the relationship.

According to lead author Sara Algoe, feelings of gratitude and generosity are helpful in solidifying our relationships with people we care about, and benefit to the one giving as well as the one on the receiving end.

The authors propose that the emotion of gratitude is adaptive, and ultimately helps us to find, remind, and bind ourselves to people who seem to care about our welfare.

Events such as one partner planning a celebratory meal when the other partner gets a promotion, taking the children to the zoo so the other partner can have some quiet time, or stopping to pick up the other partner's favorite coffee drink are each examples of gratuitous behavior that could strengthen romantic relationships, if the recipient feels grateful in response.

"Gratitude triggers a cascade of responses within the person who feels it in that very moment, changing the way the person views the generous benefactor, as well as motivations toward the benefactor," Algoe said. "This is especially true when a person shows that they care about the partner's needs and preferences."

Zestz JAZZ - I Thank You

I THANK YOU, more country & western than jazz but we could not resist the opportunity to honour two great Aussies, was written by Johnny Young in 1969. Lionel Rose took it to the Australian top 10 in 1970.
Young, singer, composer, record producer, disc jockey, television producer and host, was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 1945. He grew up in the Perth Hills suburb of Kalamunda, Western Australia.
Lionel, born June 21, 1948, was raised in Jackson's Track, a poor aboriginal settlement 50 miles south of Melbourne. Rose won the Bantamweight title in 1968 against Fighting Harada from Japan.

Lyrics:

Let me thank you for just being you
When a boy b
ecomes a man
He must do the best he c
an
To live his life and find his childhood dream
I've had the good times and the bad
But the biggest break I've had
Was when I found that girl that thought of only me

Thank you for your smile
And the love that's in your eyes
And thank you for the heart that's big and true
Thank you for the many things you are my love
Let me thank you for just being you
Let me thank you for just being you

Every man must make a few mistakes
And put a few feet wrong
And sometimes I feel I want to say forget it
But with my baby by my side

I can swallow foolish pride
And stand upright to fight another day

Thank you for your smile
And the love that's in your eyes
And thank you for a heart that's big and true
Thank you for the many things you are my love
Let me thank you for just being you
Let me thank you for just being you

Now I'm 21 and grown
And I'm know I'm not alone

In this great big world of wars and fear of dying
I wear a smile and not a frown
Cause I know You'll be around
To keep me full of happiness and love

Thank you for your smile
And the love that's in your eyes

And thank you for the heart that's big and true
Thank you for the many
things you are my love
Let me thank you for just being you
Let me thank you for just being you

Breakfast is the Most Important Meal of the Day

Studies show that children who eat breakfast do better in school.

Even if you're rushing out the door to get kids to school, be sure to make time for a family breakfast.

Their growing bodies and developing brains rely heavily on the regular intake of food. By recharging theirs and your brain and body, you'll all be more efficient in just about everything you do.

The Nemours Foundations says starting the day with a healthy breakfast can offer these additional benefits:

  • It helps provide the body with enough energy to start the day.
  • It raises the likelihood that children will be more physically active.
  • It helps stabilize metabolism, mood and energy levels.
  • It can suppress mid-morning hunger that would likely promote snacking on higher-calorie foods.
  • It makes kids likely to miss fewer days of school.

Nemours is one of the leading paediatric health systems in the USA, dedicated to advancing higher standards in children’s health.

Osteoporosis and Your Cigarettes

Many of the health problems caused by tobacco use are well known. Cigarette smoking causes heart disease, lung and esophageal cancer, and chronic lung disease. Additionally, several research studies have identified smoking as a risk factor for osteoporosis and bone fracture.

Cigarette smoking was first identified as a risk factor for osteoporosis more than 20 years ago. Recent studies have shown a direct relationship between tobacco use and decreased bone density.

Analyzing the impact of cigarette smoking on bone health is complicated. It is hard to determine whether a decrease in bone density is due to smoking itself or to other risk factors common among smokers.

For example, in many cases smokers are thinner than nonsmokers, tend to drink more alcohol, may be less physically active, and have poor diets.

Women who smoke also tend to have an earlier menopause than nonsmokers. These factors place many smokers at an increased risk for osteoporosis apart from their tobacco use(1).

In addition, most studies on the effects of smoking suggest that smoking increases the risk of having a fracture. Not all studies support these findings, but the evidence is mounting. For example:

  • The longer you smoke and the more cigarettes you consume, the greater your risk of fracture in old age.
  • Smokers who fracture may take longer to heal than nonsmokers and may experience more complications during the healing process.
  • Significant bone loss has been found in older women and men who smoke.
  • At least one study suggests that exposure to secondhand smoke during youth and early adulthood may increase the risk of developing low bone mass.
  • Compared with nonsmokers, women who smoke often produce less estrogen (a sex hormone) and tend to experience menopause earlier, which may lead to increased bone loss.
  • Quitting smoking appears to reduce the risk of low bone mass and fractures. However, it may take several years to lower a former smoker’s risk. CLICK HERE for more info on quitting
Osteoporosis can often be prevented. It is known as a “silent” disease because, if undetected, bone loss can progress for many years without symptoms until a fracture occurs. It has been called a childhood disease with old age consequences because building healthy bones in youth helps prevent osteoporosis and fractures later in life. However, it is never too late to adopt new habits for healthy bones.

Kaitan Viagra Dengan Kehilangan Pendengaran

Osteoporosis solely a woman's disease?

Osteoporosis, which means "porous bones," is a bone-thinning disease that can lead to debilitating fractures, typically in the spine, hip and wrist.

Osteoporosis in men is not a rare problem - it is an important clinical issue for men, just as it is for women.

Osteoporosis develops less often in men than in women because men have larger skeletons, bone loss starts later and progresses more slowly, and there is no period of rapid hormonal change (menopause, for eg) and accompanying rapid bone loss.

Also, bone loss begins later and advances more slowly in men than in women.

Men are estimated to lose bone mineral density (BMD) at a rate of up to 1% per year with advancing age, and one in eight men over age 50 years will experience an osteoporosis-related fracture in their lifetime.

Of all osteoporotic fractures, hip fractures contribute to the greatest morbidity as well as mortality, both of which are much greater in men than in women. Almost 30% of all hip fractures occur in men.

With the increasing size of our aging population and the improving longevity of men, osteoporosis in men will soon become an even greater burden to society and health care systems worldwide.

Thus it is important that we exercise preventive care to mitigate the impact of this important health issue.

The prevention of osteoporosis centres on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, adequate daily intake of calcium and vitamin D.

General Preventive and Lifestyle Measures1,2

  • 30 minutes of weight-bearing exercise, including resistance training to improve muscle mass, strength and balance, performed at least 3 times per week
  • Adequate calcium intake (minimum 1000mg/day) through diet, supplements, or both
  • Adequate vitamin D intake (800-2000IU of vitamin D per day, especially for men >65 years ofage; target serum level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D ³ 60nmol/L)
  • Smoking cessation
  • Avoidance of excessive alcohol use3
  • Use of fall-prevention programs, including home-based interventions, visual assessment, balance exercises (eg. Tai Chi) and muscle strengthening

There are usually no signs or symptoms of osteoporosis until a fracture occurs. The diagnosis of osteoporosis is based on measuring BMD by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) that is able to measure bone density in the hip, spine and total body.

However, preliminary screening can be done in an office environment using a simple, non-invasive and painless exam to measure bone mass in the finger, wrist, kneecap, shin bone and heel.

A bone density scan requires little preparation. You may eat normally and take medications as prescribed by your doctor the morning of your test.

The only restrictions are:

  • Do not take any vitamin pills or mineral supplements the morning of your exam.
  • You must not have any exams involving barium or radioisotopes within the last month. These scans interfere with the bone density results.

Multivitamins Can Add Sparkle for GenXs

Want to feel more alert, less stressed and have a positive outlook?

Take multivitamins. That's what a study conducted at Northumbria University at Newcastle suggests.

The effects of multivitamins are most often researched in the elderly. This is one of very few studies to assess the relationship between supplementation with vitamins/minerals and psychological functioning in healthy groups of non-elderly adults.

In a randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled study, 215 men in full-time employment aged between 30 and 55 were given either a multivitamin or a placebo for a period of 33 days.

Those on the multivatin supplement not only scored better on mental math tests, but they rated their general health better, reported decreased levels of stress and said they felt more vigorous.

"Overall, these results suggest that improving nutritional status, by supplementation if necessary, may be beneficial to males within the general population as a whole," says Professor David Kennedy, who led the study.

"The assumption was made here that the men tested enjoyed typical nutritional status. However, the very fact of being able to improve mood, ratings of mental health and vigour and aspects of task performance by simple supplementation with B vitamins, Vitamin C and minerals indicates that the cohort must have been suffering from less than optimal micronutrient status at the outset."

Optimum functioning of the central nervous system is dependent on a wide range of micronutrients, and evidence from epidemiological studies that clearly suggest a relationship between micro-nutrients and psychological functioning.

Vitamin C for example is the brain's most prevalent antioxidant and is found at its greatest concentrations in neuron-rich areas.

Zestzfulness adds : Do not overlook the importance of exercise, sleep, veges and fruits, and the NOW!

Tai Chi and your Psychological Health

Tai Chi is believed to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve mood and enhance overall psychological well being, but convincing evidence has so far been lacking.

A systematic review of the subject does back up the thought that Tai Chi is good for psychological health.

Dr. Chenchen Wang, associate professor of the Tufts University School of Medicine and fellow workers assessed the outcomes of 40 researches that comprise 17 randomized controlled trials, into the mental health effects of Tai Chi

The researchers found that practicing Tai Chi was associated with reduced stress, anxiety, depression and mood disturbance, and increased self-esteem.

However, the quality of the studies identified was generally modest and more rigorous, prospective, well controlled randomized trials with appropriate comparison groups and validated outcome measures are needed.

More detailed knowledge about the physiological and psychological effects of Tai Chi exercise may lead to new approaches to promote health, treat chronic medical conditions, better inform clinical decisions and further explicate the mechanisms of successful mind-body medicine.

Zestz for LAUGHS :AAADD

Subject: AAADD

Recently, I was diagnosed with A. A. A. D. D.

- Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to wash my car.

As I start toward the garage, I notice that there is mail on

the hall table. I decide to go through the mail before I wash

the car.

I lay my car keys down on the table, put the junk mail in the

trash can under the table, and notice that the trash can is full.

So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out

the trash first.

But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I

take out the trash anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.

I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only

one check left

My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go to my desk

where I find the can of Coke that I had been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the

Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.

I see that the Coke is getting warm, and I decide I should put

it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.

As I head toward the kitchen with the coke a vase of flowers on

the counter catches my eye--they need to be watered.

I set the Coke down on the counter, and I discover my reading

glasses that I've been searching for all morning.

I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going

to water the flowers.

I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container

with water and suddenly I spot the TV remote.

Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV, I will be

looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on

the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where

it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.

I splash some water on the flowers, but most of it spills on

the floor.

So, I set the remote back down on the table, get some towels

and wipe up the spill.

Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was

planning to do.

At the end of the day: the car isn't washed, the bills aren't

paid, there is a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter, the

flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my

checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find my glasses,

and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm

really baffled because I know I was busy all day long, and I'm

really tired.

I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some

help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail.

Do me a favor, will you? Forward this message to everyone you

know, because I don't remember to whom it has been sent.

Don't laugh -- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming!

Viagra Linked to Hearing Loss

Viagra, and possibly other oral erectile dysfunction drugs, may prompt long-term hearing loss among users, a new study suggests.

The finding stems from an analysis of survey data concerning more than 11,500 men over the age of 40 that had been collected by the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality between 2003 and 2006.

Gerald McGwin, a professor of epidemiology in the University of Alabama and his team found that men who said they used phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor drugs had twice the risk for developing hearing loss as those who did not.

The authors suggests that one possible explanation could lie in the original purpose of these medications. They note that although now used mainly for erectile dysfunction, this class of drugs was initially prescribed for the treatment of pulmonary high blood pressure.

PDE5 inhibitor medications work in erectile dysfunction patients by their ability to increase blood flow to certain tissues in the body and it has been hypothesized that they may have a similar effect on similar tissues in the ear, where an increase of blood flow could potentially cause damage leading to hearing loss.

It appears from these findings that the 2007 warning by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding hearing loss and the use of PDE5 inhibitor medications is warranted.

"Though there are limitations to this study, it is prudent that patients using these medications be warned about the signs and symptoms of hearing impairment and be encouraged to seek immediate medical attention to potentially forestall permanent damage," McGwin cautions.

Journal reference:

Gerald McGwin Jr. Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitor Use and Hearing Impairment. Arch Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2010;136(5):488-492.

Zestzfulness says:

PDE5 inhibitors are safe and effective for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) when taken according to the labeling. However, all drugs carry risks and you should discuss any concerns you have regarding taking these products with your healthcare provider.

Health Supplement

Berocca is more than the fizzy orange vitamin drink.

Berocca is a fun, healthy way to get more vitamins and minerals than you can shake a stick at. Which means you can feel great about yourself as you take it, and ready for anything afterwards.

Make it part of your morning ritual. Try one each day for a week and see what happens. We reckon it’ll help you be at your best for the rest of the day.

How Does Berocca Work?
Vitamins and minerals are involv
ed in hundreds of chemical reactions throughout your body, making them essential for good health, physical strength and work performance. However, people with demanding lifestyles are at particular risk of developing a vitamin and mineral deficiency.

But typically, it is difficult to nourish your body properly during stressful periods. Vitamin and mineral levels are likely to be lowered as a result of lifestyle-associated behaviour like skipping meals, choosing unhealthy food and stress-related behaviour like smoking and excessively consuming alcohol and coffee. Outwardly, this leads to irritability and poor concentration, which negatively impacts performance.

This combination of a stressful lifestyle and inadequate nutrient intake from food may result in the so-called ‘vicious circle of stress’.

Micronutrient Deficiencies and Cognitive Performance
The body is only capable of storing limited amounts of water-soluble B vitamins, vitamin C and the mineral micronutrients magnesium and zinc. Upon any reduction of intake, impairment of absorption or increase in requirements, the amount stored begins to fall and the body may start to become deficient. Prolonged inadequate intake of all, or any of the micronutrients in Berocca can have effects on performance.

Safety
With the recommended dosage of one tablet per day, Berocca has a high safety profile. All Berocca ingredients are at levels well below the so-called Upper Safety Levels, which have been officially established for vitamins and minerals by internationally accepted institutions like the US Institute of Medicine or the European Scientific Committee. Compared to most other multivitamins, Berocca offers only water-soluble vitamins, any surplus of which is not retained in the body.

Like all other multivitamins, allergic reactions cannot be completely excluded. For further information, please refer to the patient information leaflet,

Baby boomers at severe risk of heart attack and stroke

A new study suggests one in five Australians aged over 55 or over a million baby boomers, face a 30 per cent chance of suffering a potentially fatal heart attack or stroke in the next five years.

The Generation Risk report was carried out by Access Economics and rates cardiovascular risk in Australians aged 55 or over based on a collection of asymptomatic or ‘silent’ risk factors such as high blood pressure, being overweight or smoking.

Although smoking as a risk factor is declining, there are still areas such as physical inactivity, being overweight or obese and increasing levels of diabetes which are of great concern in the future as the population ages.

Within the population group aged 55 years or older, three out of four are physically inactive, 70 per cent are overweight or obese, 58 per cent have high cholesterol, 51 per cent have hypertension, 26 per cent have diabetes and 14 per cent have had a prior CVD event.

Furthermore, one in five people stop taking blood pressure medications after just one month and 80 per cent stop taking these medications after 30 months.

“The best drug in the world is not going to work if the patient doesn’t take it,” said Dr Conner, the report’s expert advisor,

The take home message:

get physically active,

and stay on your prescribed medication!

Breast Milk’s Best!

Although both breast-fed and formula-fed babies gain weight and seem to develop similarly, scientists have known for a long time that breast milk contains immune-protective components that make a breast-fed infant's risk lower for all kinds of illnesses,

Researchers led by Sharon Donovan of the University of Illinois examined the intestinal gene expression in the faecal sample of infants who were breast-fed and who were formula-fed. They found a difference in the RNA genetic make-up between breast-fed and fomula-fed infants.

Many of the differences found by the scientists were in fundamental genes that regulate the development of the intestine and provide immune defense for the infant.

Breast milk makes babies more responsive to feeding because of its bioactive components. This is important since an infant has to adapt to being fed outside the mother’s womb.

"An infant's gut has to adapt very quickly. A new baby is coming out of a sterile environment, having received all its nutrients intravenously through the placenta. At that point, babies obviously must begin eating, either mother's milk or formula.

"They also start to become colonized with bacteria, so it's very important that the gut learns what's good and what's bad. The baby's body needs to be able to recognize a bad bacteria or a bad virus and fight it, but it also needs to recognize that even though a food protein is foreign, that protein is okay and the body doesn't want to develop an immune response to it," she said.

If anything goes wrong at this stage, babies can develop food allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, and even asthma. "We're very interested in frequent sampling at this early period of development," she added.

Understanding those differences should help formula makers develop a product that is more like the real thing.

This is a study is funded by Mead Johnson Nutrition.

Zestz for LAUGHS?

Smoking cessation medications are most effective when used as part of a comprehensive stop smoking program monitored by your doctor or pharmacist.

Talk to your health professional about your options and whether an anti-smoking medication is right for you.

The following options have been approved by the Ministry of Health:

Nicotine Replacement Therapy

Nicotine replacement therapy involves "replacing" cigarettes with other nicotine substitutes, such as nicotine gum or a nicotine patch (Click HERE to know about Nicorette). It works by delivering “small and steady doses” of nicotine into the body to relieve some of the withdrawal symptoms without the tars and poisonous gases found in cigarettes. A Woman’s Touch Can Be Risky

Gentlemen Baby Boomers and GenXs Beware :)

A woman’s touch is all it takes for people to throw caution to the wind.

A new study finds that if a female experimenter patted a participant on the back, they’d risk more money than if she just talked to them, or if a man did the patting.

Jonathan Levav of Columbia University and Jennifer J. Argo of the University of Alberta found that participants who were touched felt more secure and took bigger risks than those who weren’t — but only if they were touched by a woman. The effect was stronger for a touch on the back than for a handshake, but went away entirely for participants who were touched by a man.

The researchers think this comes from the way that mothers use touch to make their babies feel secure.

This helps the youngster’s sense of adventure; they’re more willing to take the risks that come with exploring unfamiliar contexts and strange situations.

The results suggest that a woman's touch works the same on adults as it does on infants: making them feel more secure and more willing to take risks.

Brian Dyson’s 30 second Speech?

This piece turns up in numerous Web sources, attributed to one Brian Dyson, in a commencement speech given at Georgia Tech on September 6, 1996 (or, in some attributions, 1991).

Brian Dyson is President of Chatham International Corporation (CIC), a private international business consulting and investment firm with emphasis in South America. Prior to founding CIC, Mr. Dyson worked for The Coca-Cola Company for 35 years. He retired from Coca Cola Co. as Vice Chairman on July 31, 2003.

There is no proof that Mr. Dyson made such a speech, or even uttered these words in any context. but the message stands alone, with clarity and impact.

“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.

You name them – Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you’re keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.

If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls – Family, Health, Friends and Spirit – are made of glass.

If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.

They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for Balance in your Life.”

Going Nuts over Cholesterol

Dietary interventions to lower blood cholesterol concentrations and to modify blood lipoprotein levels are the cornerstone of prevention and treatment plans for coronary heart disease

Epidemiological* studies have consistently associated nut consumption with reduced risk for coronary heart disease.

Drs Joan Sabaté, Keiji Oda and Emilio Ros pooled primary data from 25 nut consumption trials conducted in seven countries which investigated the effects of nut consumption on blood lipid levels. All the studies compared a control group to a group assigned to consume nuts; participants were not taking lipid-lowering medications.

"The effects of nut consumption were dose related, and different types of nuts had similar effects on blood lipid levels," the authors write. "The effects of nut consumption were significantly modified by LDL-C, body mass index and diet type: the lipid-lowering effects of nut consumption were greatest among subjects with high baseline LDL-C and with low body mass index and among those consuming Western diets."

The results support the inclusion of nuts in therapeutic dietary interventions for improving blood cholesterol levels.

Nuts are a whole food that have been consumed by humans throughout history. Increasing the consumption of nuts as part of an otherwise prudent diet can be expected to favorably affect blood lipid levels (at least in the short term) and have the potential to lower coronary heart disease risk.

If You're Nuts About Health..

Which nuts are the best to lower your cholesterol?

Healthy nuts, such as almonds, pistachios and walnuts, contain high amounts of unsaturated fat -- or “good” fats -- which help lower total cholesterol levels and LDL -- or “bad” cholesterol -- levels. When trying to decide which nuts are the best to eat, look at the amount of unsaturated fats in each one. Ideally, high amounts of unsaturated fats and lower amounts of saturated fat should be found in the nuts.

Of the different types of nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans, and pistachios appear to have the highest amounts of unsaturated fats and lowest amounts of saturated fats. Even peanuts, one of the most beloved nuts in the bunch, also contain high amounts of unsaturated fat and lower amounts of saturated fat. Although their unsaturated fat profile encourages heart health, farmers have now developed a way to grow high-oleic peanuts. These high-oleic peanuts have a higher content of unsaturated fat and lower content of saturated fat when compared with regular peanuts. In fact, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given approval these nuts, in addition to almonds, to receive a ”heart-healthy” distinction on their labeling.

While macadamia nuts and brazil nuts contain high amounts of unsaturated fats, they also contain higher amounts of saturated fats when compared to other nuts. Because of this, they are not allowed the “heart-healthy” distinction on their labeling. Nonetheless, the amount of saturated fats in these nuts is low in comparison to what you would find in other, high fat snacks such as chips and cookies.

So, if are looking for a healthy snack to keep your hunger at bay, a handful of any type of nut will do. Not only do nuts contain a high amount of unsaturated fat, they also contain phytosterols, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein.
