Whither Public Security in Malaysia?

Laichakming via Khoo Soo Chuan

Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proclaimed friendship with members of a Malay non-government organisation (NGO) that were part of the Tiga Line secret society outlawed by his ministry earlier this year, - details in The MalayMail of October 7, 2013

There was no denial from Home Minister Ahmad Zahid but his pal in UMNO, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, came out in The Malaysian Insider to claim that the latter was "only joking".

Another clown in the pack?

The title we used for this post is borrowed from a 2004 Aliran report on the high occurrence of snatch thefts, rapes and other sex crimes, assaults and murders, child abuse and ill-treatment of foreign maids, break-ins as well as break-outs (from police lock-ups), hold-ups and thefts, kidnappings, extortion including the stabbing of two schoolchildren over a 2 month period in Malaysia.

Has the security situation improved at all in Malaysia in the last 9 years?
