Zestz for Laughs? Know Your Pharmacist

This parody cartoon grew out of the laugh when pharmacy students marching on roads with a banners celebrating their 2008 National Pharmacy Week with theme "Ask Your Pharmacist: For Safe Use of Prescription Medicines ".

Following points are reason for laugh

1) In majority of the pharmacies (may be more than 98%), pharmacist never present .

2) Most people in India are not familiar with role of pharmacist in their health care management.

It is a bitter truth that in majority pharmacist are absent in pharmacy. What is the reason behind this? In my opinion reason is that lack of information about pharmacist amongst public. Most of the people do not know that the person from whom they are getting medicine are not authorized to do so.

In my opinion there is need of patient education or customer education. Once customer will know that there is a act to receive medicine from a registered pharmacist they will deny the helpers in pharmacy. And this will force the owner of Pharmacy to insist pharmacist to be there.
